Nathaniel Jimenez - Keyboard

Nathan Jimenez is a progressive rock/jazz pianist from Bloomington, Indiana. He began learning songs from movies and video games at age 10 after inheriting his grandmother’s piano and quickly grew to love music. His main influences include Herbie Hancock, Thelonious Monk, Jacob Mann, Lamp, Stevie Wonder, as well as countless others. Nathan currently studies jazz piano at Jacob’s School of Music in Bloomington, and hopes to create music that is reflective of himself.

Elvin Deckard - Sax & Aux Percussion

Elvin Deckard has played music for most of his life, starting their musical journey playing fiddle and banjo every night in their living room playing tunes of Bill Monroe and Robert Johnson with their family. Going into Indiana public high school, they picked up clarinet and saxophone while being immersed in the jazz pedagogy of Janis Stockhouse. Elvin quickly started playing with numerous groups of friends around Bloomington, which kindled their love for mixing the sounds of jazz, rock, R&B, hip-hop, folk, and any form of experimental improvisation. Elvin currently lives in Indianapolis and is completing his Music Industry Communications undergrad at Butler University. He hopes to use this to pursue audio engineering and to continue to foster creative music environments.

Kaedin Caine - Bass

Kaedin Caine is a self taught bassist from Evansville, IN. He was introduced to music by his father, a self taught drummer and Rush fan. This love of Rush became an obsession throughout high school, which eventually led to an interest in playing the bass. Progressive Rock, Jam Band, and Funk influences are very prominent in his playing style. He is thankful for the different musical influences of Mycota's members. Blended together they create a unique listening experience.

Mickey Gardner - Drums

Mickey has been drumming for the majority of his life. He learned to play by watching various rock and metal drummers, and has experience playing with heavier bands. Besides the drum set, he also has experience playing bass drum and tenor drums on multiple marching drumlines. He has also never peeled an orange, so take that how you will.
